Acting students at the Conservatory of Ballet and Theatrical Arts rehearse for “The Seven Nasty Princesses” on Wednesday at the Nuart Theater in Blackfoot. The CBTA will present the play Friday and Saturday at the Nuart Theater.

Acting teacher Jamie Warren said the students have been rehearsing since the beginning of March for their year-end play. The play will be the students’ biggest performance of the year.
The play is their opportunity to show the skills they learned throughout the year. Warren said she has several first-year students, and their improvement has been astounding.
The play is about seven bratty princesses, Warren said. The princesses find out that the prince is looking for a wife, and they all try to sabotage each other’s chances.
    “It’s a children’s play,” Warren said.
The CBTA’s ballet students will be dancing as part of the play, and the contemporary dance students will perform the pre-show.
“It’s a fun, entertaining fairy tale that has a happy ending,” Warren said.
“The Seven Nasty Princesses” will be showing at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Nuart Theater in Blackfoot. Tickets are $5 for adults or $3 for children under 12. Family passes are available for $20, and children under 2 get in free. The play runs about an hour and a half with an intermission. The doors will open around 6:30 p.m.
The CBTA was started in the summer of 2006, Warren said. Classes are offered for acting, ballet and contemporary dance. It has grown quickly; the acting department has about 15 students now. Classes are also offered in ballet and modern dance.
Ballet instructor Nikkii Riley said they are trying to bring quality art instruction to Blackfoot. Anyone interested in tickets or classes can call the CBTA at 785-0687 or visit the Web site, www.thecbta.com.
